About Us
The School of Technology and Management of Bragança (ESTiG), established in 1990, fulfills its mission of training and conducting research/development in the fields of engineering and business sciences.
To achieve its objectives, ESTiG has facilities on the Santa Apolónia Campus; with a total area of 14,000m2, the ESTiG building houses 112 faculty offices, 1 auditorium, 2 lecture halls, 25 classrooms, 5 computer labs, 1 library and 20 laboratories, occupying a total area of over 3,000m2, in addition to common areas and technical/administrative support areas.
With 101 full-time teachers (of whom 85 have doctorates), 79 part-time teachers (external collaborators who maintain a professional activity outside the School), and 30 technical/administrative staff (of whom 15 have higher education), ESTiG has been assuming itself as one of the largest Schools of Technology and Management in the country.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, ESTiG has approximately 3100 students from all over the country, Europe, Africa, and Latin America, distributed as follows:
- 11 higher professional technical courses (CTeSP): Accounting; Automation, Robotics and Industrial Electronics; Chemical and Biological Analysis; Civil Construction; Cybersecurity; Mineral Prospecting and Geotechnics; Operations and Logistics Management; Renewable Energies and Electrical and Telecommunications Infrastructure; Software Development; Sustainable Technologies in Mechanics and Vehicles; Water and Wastewater Quality and Treatment.
- 12 Bachelor's degrees (1st cycle Bologna): Accounting; Biomedical Technology; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Engineering; Digital Technologies and Management; Electrical and Computer Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Industrial Engineering and Management; International Business Management; Management; Renewable Energy Engineering.

The quality of the education provided has led to growing recognition among employers, reflected in the professional success of the more than 8,000 graduates that ESTiG has placed in the labour market since 1994.
As a result of the strong commitment to the advanced training of its academic staff (currently 85% of the faculty hold a PhD), ESTiG has, alongside its teaching activities, significantly intensified its high-level scientific research and development. Most of its PhD-qualified staff are integrated into FCT research centres, including UNIAG – Applied Research Unit in Management (http://uniag.ipb.pt/), CIMO – Mountain Research Centre (http://cimo.ipb.pt/), CeDRI – Research Centre in Digitalisation and Intelligent Robotics (http://cedri.ipb.pt/) and GICoS – Research Group in Sustainable Construction (https://gicos.ipb.pt). Today, ESTiG is involved in numerous research projects through national and international partnerships, while also providing high-level services to public and private entities under various collaboration agreements.
