The Technical-Scientific Council of the School of Technology and Management (ESTiG) is the collegiate body responsible for the School’s scientific policy, and its responsibilities include:

• to review the School’s scientific activity plan;
• to issue an opinion on the creation, transformation or extinction of IPB organisational units;
• to deliberate on the allocation of teaching duties;
• to issue an opinion on the creation of study programmes and to approve the study plans of the courses offered;
• to propose or issue an opinion on the awarding of honorary titles or distinctions, on the establishment of academic prizes, and on the conclusion of agreements and international partnerships;
• to propose the composition of the juries for academic examinations and contests;
• to carry out the acts provided for by law relating to the academic and research career and to the recruitment of teaching and research staff;
• to approve the accreditation of certified training and professional experience;
• to propose the number of places available for each course;
• to issue an opinion on the recognition of degrees and diploms;
• to issue an opinion on requests for equivalence to scholarship holder status, scholarships, exemptions from teaching duties, and integration into research units and research teams.
