Ethics Committee

Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee aims to ensure compliance with and promote standards of integrity, honesty and technical quality in the activities of the Organic Units and Research Units and Centres, in order to protect and guarantee the dignity and integrity of the human person at the various stages of its constitution and development.

The Ethics Committee comprises a multidisciplinary team consisting of eleven members: a President, a Vice-President and nine members.

The Ethics Committee is responsible for analysing ethical issues within the scope of the actions, responsibilities and internal and external relations of the units that make up IPB, as well as the conduct of their members, particularly when related to teaching, research, extension activities or other academic activities that may be of general interest to IPB. It is also within the Committee’s remit to issue opinions on ethical aspects of research work, particularly those involving, in any form, human beings, animals or biological material.

Promoting reflection and the dissemination of aspects related to ethics within the scope of scientific research activities, through the most appropriate means, namely studies and/or scientific activities, is one of the objectives of this committee.
