CIENCIAVITAE is the national system for managing scientific curricula, acting as a central element in the ecosystem for managing information on scientific and technological activity, as well as a tool supporting the modernisation of administrative processes based on a CV.

Within the framework of the concept of scientific citizenship (Ciência ID), CIENCIAVITAE emerges as a privileged space for interaction between citizens and science, reflected in the format of an integrated and personalised repository of one’s scientific career.

CIENCIAVITAE brings together, in a single platform, information currently dispersed across multiple systems, in a simple, harmonised and structured way, respecting the specificities of different scientific fields and upholding the principles of freedom and responsibility in the management and presentation of the curriculum.

This platform uses mechanisms for importing and automatically populating curricular data, ensuring the principle of information reuse (enter once, reuse multiple times), in direct articulation with Ciência ID. The development of the platform follows best practices and international standards, and it is interoperable with various national and international systems and identifiers.

CIENCIAVITAE is developed and managed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and is intended for all individuals, Portuguese or foreign, who operate in the academic and research context in Portugal.
