IPB provides consultancy services and development support to various stakeholders within the regional, national and international socio-economic fabric.

Service provision/consultancy represents a significant value, of which around one third corresponds to innovation contracts with companies.

IPB carries out its mission in close articulation with society, including cross-border cooperation, with a view to territorial cohesion and national and international positioning, aiming at regional development based on innovation and the production and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge, in accordance with its Statutes. 

IPB participates, either independently or through its organic units and R&D units, in activities linking it to society, namely through the dissemination and transfer of knowledge, as well as the valorisation of scientific knowledge. Therefore, one of IPB’s purposes is to promote regional development through multiple forms of engagement with the community, ranging from knowledge transfer to participation in programmes and projects, and the provision of services. 

This is an institution strongly connected to the region, playing a leading role in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, technology transfer and the co-creation of technological innovation with internationalisation potential.

According to financial reports, there is clear evidence of a strong effort and commitment to promoting the growth of funding from innovation contracts with companies. 

Consultancy and the provision of research and innovation services contracted with companies continue to show a growth trajectory, already exceeding €1.65M (value in 2023), with approximately one third of this amount corresponding to innovation contracts with companies.
